DirectTV FlipTop Receiver and Display
Posted: 07-Jan-2006 [Source: Samsung]

[The DIRECTV FlipTop by Samsung combines a DIRECTV receiver with a built-in folding 10" LCD display that fits perfectly in the kitchen, office or bedroom. ]

Las Vegas -- This first-of-its-kind DIRECTV receiver has a unique swivel design with a backlit control panel allowing it to be mounted under a cabinet (mounting kit included) or on a table-top with the TV image and control panel icons always being illuminated right side up. That makes it the perfect all-in-one entertainment solution for the kitchen, bedroom, office or garage.

The DIRECTV FlipTop exclusively by Samsung has a space-saving 10.2" profile. The built-in DIRECTV receiver and the 10 watts of stereo audio allows consumers to experience the full range of entertainment media without the need for a separate set top box or additional components such as DVD, VHS, or CD players. Consumers can enjoy access to over 250 available channels of DIRECTV programming with digital quality picture and sound as well as up to 72 channels of XM Satellite Radio audio channels featuring music, news, sports and entertainment.

The FlipTop offers a clear and bright Samsung LCD picture with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The folding configuration allows users to tilt or flip the screen for convenient placement and viewing from any direction. The front panel buttons are back-lit, and flip based on the TV's placement. Consumers can experience 10 watts of stereo audio through the integrated stereo speakers, or plug into the headphone jack. And a built-in AV input lets users connect additional entertainment devices. Additional features include a bilingual user interface (English and Spanish), 3 device universal remote and 3-day Advanced Program Guide so you never miss your favorite shows.

The 10" FlipTop will be available in March 2006 at MAP $499.
